For those of you interested in going without a car, you can take Amtrak to and from the bout. Train #742 to Oakland leaves San Jose at 4:24 and Great America at 4:37, connecting at Oakland to train #718 at 5:50, which arrives in Stockton at 7:34. On the way back, there is a bus from Stockton at 10:30, arriving back in San Jose at 12:05. For getting between the train station and the venue, I will be bringing a bicycle, but I’m sure that catching a cab is also a possibility. The bout venue is only about a mile and a half from either train station. You can get tickets at Three things to note: 1) for the return trip, you have to buy a ticket from Modesto to San Jose, because your trip has to have a train segment. 2) Stockton has two train stations. The bus back to San Jose leaves from a different one than where the train from Oakland arrives. 3) You have to buy the San Jose-Oakland and Oakland-Stockton tickets separately. If you have any questions about getting tickets, finding the train station, and so on, feel free to email me at crzwdjk at gmail dot com. Otherwise, see you on the train! I’ll be in the front car, wearing an SVRG shirt.
